Ruten (流転) is an ambient art application that displays a small planet with a procedural ecosystem and a Japanese kanji calendar. This privacy policy explains how the app handles your information.
Ruten does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. There are no analytics SDKs, no advertising networks, no user accounts, and no server-side processing.
The following preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's standard UserDefaults mechanism, and are NOT sent anywhere:
This data is shared with the Ruten Home Screen widget through Apple's standard App Group mechanism. It never leaves your device.
Ruten reads device motion data (accelerometer/gravity, via CoreMotion) for an optional visual effect (gravity tilt influencing agents). This data is processed locally and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
The microphone is not used by this app.
If you enable solar term notifications, Ruten schedules local notifications using Apple's UserNotifications framework. These notifications are produced entirely on your device. No server is contacted.
Ruten offers optional Tip Jar purchases through Apple's StoreKit. These are processed by Apple, not by us. We do not receive any personal information about you from Apple beyond a transaction confirmation. Tipping does not unlock any features — it is purely a gesture of thanks.
Ruten is rated 4+. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, regardless of age.
Ruten does not use any third-party services. No SDKs, no analytics, no ads.
Deleting Ruten from your device permanently removes all stored preferences. There is no cloud copy.
If we update this policy, the new version will be posted at this URL. Significant changes will be communicated through app updates.
